Our story · Bozeman, Montana
Built on a trail. Made for every walk.
We're Rory and Emily, two hikers raising our family in Bozeman, Montana. Hiker Hunger began in 2014 with resupply boxes for thru-hikers. A year later we made our first trekking poles, built to last a long trail at a price that makes sense.
A two-mile loop around the lake matters to us as much as a 42-mile weekend.

How do I pick the right size?
The carbon poles adjust from 24" to 54", which fits most adults from about 5'0" to 6'4". The Z-Style comes in two sizes: Short (100 to 120 cm) for hikers 5'9" and under, and Long (115 to 135 cm) for 5'9" and taller. The Kid's poles fit hikers under 4'9".
Set the length so your elbow bends at about a right angle when the tip is on the ground. Still unsure? Call or text us at (406) 219-1363.
Carbon fiber or folding: which should I get?
Pick carbon fiber if you want the lightest pole (7.35 oz each) for hikes and everyday walks. Pick the Z-Style if you travel a lot or want a pole that folds to 14 to 15 inches and disappears into a bag.
What's in the box?
The Complete Set comes with two carbon fiber poles, rubber tips, rubber feet, mud baskets, snow baskets and a carry bag. The poles-only option comes with the two poles. Every accessory is also sold on its own.
What if they aren't right for me?
Easy 30-day returns. Send them back within 30 days and we'll take care of you. See the return terms.
What does the warranty cover?
Every pole has a 1-year warranty. If something goes wrong, we replace it. After that, replacement sections and accessories are sold separately, so you never have to replace a whole pole. Read the warranty.
How fast do you ship?

I'm getting back on my feet after an injury or surgery. Are poles a good fit?
Many of our customers use poles on everyday walks and tell us they feel steadier. Every body is different, so talk with your doctor or physical therapist about whether trekking poles are a good fit for you.
