Do's and Don'ts When Using Your Poles
Adjust Your Poles To Your Height & Use Proper Arm Movement
Adjust your poles so your elbows form a 90 degree angle and keep your elbows tucked tight as you walk. Opposite arm/leg movement is crucial and feels most natural.
When tightening your poles, make sure to turn the tightening screw before closing the fliplock. This will ensure that your poles are secure.
Adjust Your Hand Position When Terrain Changes
You can also extend your hiking poles when going downhill. They will offer a braking effect when going downhill. When moving uphill, keep the poles close to your body to give yourself a little push.
Insert Your Hand Through Strap From Bottom
Wrist straps help reduce fatigue in your arms and hands. It's helpful to adjust the straps to find the perfect fit for your wrist. Always insert your hand through the bottom of the strap to support your wrist properly.
DO NOT Pull Poles Past The STOP Line
If this does happen, you CAN reinsert the section that has been pulled out but need to do so carefully. It's always easier to make sure you don't accidentally pull past the STOP line, unless intentionally disassembling for travel.
DO NOT Put Entire Body Weight On Poles
Hiking poles are meant to support a percentage of your weight and items you carry for balance. Make sure to not put all your weight on the poles.
How to adjust your poles for your height
The best height for walking poles will vary from user to user. It is recommended that your elbows form a 90 degree angle for the most comfortable height when adjusting the poles on flat terrain.
We recommend adjusting each section evenly so weight and durability are distributed.

How do I know which length or height is right for me?
We recommend adjusting and using the trekking poles so that your elbow is at a 90 degree angle when standing on level ground.
You can stand with your elbow at a 90 degree angle and measure the distance from the ground to the top of your hand. This will be the ideal trekking pole length for you on flat ground.
Our z-style folding trekking pole comes in two sizes. The short version is for those 5'8" and shorter, while the longer version is for those 5'9" and taller.
Can I pack my trekking poles in my carry-on?
We have had many customers successfully bring trekking poles in a carry-on. However, we cannot guarantee that you won't have any issues because every TSA agent is different and can follow different policies. Read more details on an article we wrote about TSA's policies with trekking poles.
Are the tungsten tips replaceable?
The smaller tungsten tip is not replaceable but we do offer replacement sections and accessories for all of our poles. So, if you've put a lot of miles on your hiking sticks or got them stuck between some rocks you can find the replacement you need here.

How can I wash or clean my cork grips?
You can wash your cork grips in a couple of different ways. We recommend the Mr. Clean eraser pads. You simply need to wet the eraser pad and gently scrub your cork grips. Or you can use a bit of soapy water and a sponge - that's it!
We do recommend cleaning your poles frequently so they last even longer.
