Adjust your poles so your elbows form a 90 degree angle and keep your elbows tucked tight as you walk. Opposite arm/leg movement is crucial and feels most natural.
When tightening your poles, make sure to turn the tightening screw before closing the fliplock. This will ensure that your poles are secure.
You can also extend your hiking poles when going downhill. They will offer a braking effect when going downhill. When moving uphill, keep the poles close to your body to give yourself a little push.
Wrist straps help reduce fatigue in your arms and hands. It's helpful to adjust the straps to find the perfect fit for your wrist. Always insert your hand through the bottom of the strap to support your wrist properly.
If this does happen, you CAN reinsert the section that has been pulled out but need to do so carefully. It's always easier to make sure you don't accidentally pull past the STOP line, unless intentionally disassembling for travel.
Hiking poles are meant to support a percentage of your weight and items you carry for balance. Make sure to not put all your weight on the poles.
The best height for walking poles will vary from user to user. It is recommended that your elbows form a 90 degree angle for the most comfortable height when adjusting the poles on flat terrain.
We recommend adjusting each section evenly so weight and durability are distributed.
Good maintenance and proper cleaning care will give your poles a longer lifecycle.
